Intervet Introduces Cattle Business Messaging Service

Cattle feeders receive vital market information rapidly and conveniently through cell phones

Intervet Inc. announces the availability of Intervet Cattle Business Messaging (ICBM), a new service that delivers vital market information to cattle feeders through cell phone text messaging technology.

Cattle producers with cell phone service that includes text-messaging capabilities will receive current month fed-cattle futures market data three times a day – at market open; midday; and close of market, which also will provide the volume traded that day. Subscribers will be alerted when cattle cash trade occurs and when major breaking news relevant to the cattle industry happens.

“As quickly as the cattle market shifts, cattle feeders have a narrow window of time to capitalize on critical business decisions,” explains Jim Miles, Intervet Marketing Manager, Beef Cattle Performance Technology Products. “Intervet’s ICBM service relays important information to cattle feeders to help them make informed decisions in rapid-response time on important issues that affect the profitability of their businesses. ICBM, gives cattle feeders additional freedom to carry on through the workday with the security of knowing they have access to important, breaking news any time, any place, anywhere.”

The service will be activated March 1, 2006, and provided to qualified Intervet customers, compliments of Intervet – the manufacturer of Revalor®, Finaplix®, Vision®, Vista® and Safe-Guard® for cattle.
