Intervet Receives FDA Approval for Revalor®-XS
Performance Technology Breakthrough Will Simplify Cattle Feeding
MILLSBORO, Del. (Jan. 31, 2007) Intervet announces it has received approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for Revalor-XS for steers, the first combination, delayed-release implant for steers fed in confinement that delivers re-implant performance in just one application, reducing labor and management time for cattle feeders and minimizing stress on cattle.
Revalor-XS delivers the proven Revalor performance technology of trenbolone acetate and estradiol that cattle feeders trust to improve cattle performance traits, such as average daily gain and feed-to-gain ratio, in the convenience of a single, delayed-release format.
Dr. John Hutcheson, Intervet’s Director of Cattle Performance Technologies, says the
special-release profile of the Revalor-XS implant truly simplifies management practices for cattle feeders in their steer-feeding programs. He explains, “The ‘one-touch’ application of Revalor-XS enables cattle feeders to better utilize management time and employee labor, while improving cattle performance and reducing stress.”
“The initial release, followed by the delayed-release, of full doses of trenbolone acetate and estradiol with the elimination of a second processing regiment results in less fluctuation in feed intake. It’s a win-win for the cattle-feeding industry.”
