MYSTIQUE® II
Description
Mystique II is a liquid suspension of inactivated rabies virus propagated in a stable cell line, combined with an inactivated suspension of Ehrlichia risticii. The efficacy of this combination vaccine has been demonstrated in controlled vaccination challenge tests and the safety in thorough field evaluations.
Indications
For vaccination of healthy horses 3 months of age or older against disease caused by rabies virus and as an aid in the prevention of Potomac Horse Fever (equine monocytic ehrlichiosis) caused by E. risticii.
Administration and Dosage
For primary immunization, aseptically inject 1 mL intramuscularly. For E. risticii, repeat the dose in 3 to 4 weeks using this product or Mystique. Repeat the dose annually or at any time epidemic conditions exist or are reported and exposure is imminent.
Caution
Store at a temperature between 35o to 45o F (2o to 7oC). Do not freeze. Shake well before using. Use entire contents when first opened. Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter. Vaccinating animals whose immune response is compromised by stress, disease, etc. may not produce the desired results. Anaphylactoid reactions may occur.
Antidote
Epinephrine. Contains gentamicin as a preservative.
