The reconstituted vaccine-bacterin product contains modified-live cultures of bovine rhinotracheitis (IBR) virus; bovine virus diarrhea (BVD) virus (Types 1 and 2); parainfluenza-3 virus (PI-3) and bovine respiratory syncytial virus (BRSV) and inactivated cultures of
Leptospira canicola, L. grippotyphosa, L. hardjo, L. icterohaemorrhagiae, and
L. pomona with a proprietary adjuvant.
Indications
The product is recommended for the vaccination of healthy cows and heifers, 6 months of age or older, prior to breeding, as an aid in the reduction of abortion due to IBR; as an aid in the prevention of fetal infection, including persistently infected calves caused by BVD virus Type 1; and as an aid in the prevention of persistently infected calves caused by BVD virus Type 2. Reproductive Duration of Immunity has been demonstrated to be at least 217 days for IBR, at least 206 days for BVD Type 1, and at least 112 days for BVD Type 2. In addition, the vaccine is recommended for the vaccination of healthy non-pregnant breeding-age cattle as an aid in the prevention of disease caused by infectious bovine rhinotracheitis (IBR) virus; bovine virus diarrhea (BVD) virus (Type 2); and bovine respiratory syncytial virus (BRSV), as an aid in the control of disease caused by bovine virus diarrhea (BVD) virus (type 1) and parainfluenza-3 virus (PI-3); and as an aid in preventing leptospirosis (caused by
Leptospira canicola, L. grippotyphosa, L. hardjo-including the L. borgpetersenii serovar hardjo bovis, L. icterohaemorrhagiae, and L. pomona) and as an aid in prevention of urinary shedding of
L. hardjo organisms. Respiratory/Enteric Duration of Immunity has been demonstrated to be at least 182 days for IBR, and at least 206 days for BVD (Type 1) and at least 200 days for BVD (Type 2). Calves nursing immune-dams should be vaccinated when maternal antibody levels will allow active immunization.
