PreveNile™ West Nile Virus vaccine

Description
PreveNile™ uses advanced chimera technology – the combining of two similar viral structures into one. Because the two viral structures are very similar, PreveNile can generate a safe, effective immune response. PreveNile is proven 99.9% reaction-free in field safety trials and safe for use in foals 4 months of age and older. It provides a full 12 months protection in yearlings or older horses vaccinated with a single dose. And a single dose is all that is needed for primary immunization and for horses previously administered other West Nile vaccines. PreveNile has the most comprehensive label claim of all West Nile Virus vaccines. It was challenged under the toughest conditions. In a challenge study, 100% of vaccinated horses were protected from fever and presence of virus (viremia) in the bloodstream – and 95% were protected from clinical signs of West Nile Virus disease.
Indications
For the vaccination of healthy horses to prevent viremia and as an aid in the prevention of disease and encephalitis caused by West Nile virus infection.
Administration and Dosage
Aseptically reconstitute the desiccated vaccine with the sterile diluent provided and administer 1 mL by the intramuscular route. Initial vaccination of healthy horses may be given as early as 5 months-of-age. For primary vaccination, administer a single dose only. Re-vaccinate annually with a single dose. For horses previously vaccinated against West Nile, administer a single dose only.
Caution
Recommended storage temperature 35-45°F (2-7°C). Swirl gently after reconstitution. Use contents promptly once reconstituted. Non-chemically sterilized needles and syringes should be used for administration of vaccine. Administration of epinephrine may be indicated in the event of an anaphylactic reaction. Contains gentamicin as a preservative. Burn this container and all unused contents. Only healthy animals should be vaccinated. Animals incubating any disease or animals stressed due to shipping, malnutrition, or parasitism may not achieve or maintain an adequate immune response. Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter. This product is not hazardous when used according to directions supplied. A material safety data sheet (MSDS) is available upon request.
