Continuum® Feline HCP-R

Continuum® Feline HCP-R vaccine is a modified live virus vaccine containing attenuated strains of feline rhinotracheitis virus (FRV), feline calicivirus (FCV) and panleukopenia virus (FPV) and inactivated rabies virus. Continuum Feline HCP is presented in a desiccated form with rabies vaccine diluent provided for reconstitution. The attenuated virus strains used in Continuum Feline HCP are strains of feline origin. Continuum Feline HCP is produced with high-titered components that are immunogenic. The Pasteur strain of rabies virus is used in Continuum Feline HCP-R.
Indications
For the vaccination of healthy cats for the prevention of disease caused by feline panleukopenia virus, as an aid in the prevention of disease caused by feline calicivirus, and as an aid in the control of disease caused by feline rhinotracheitis virus for three years following initial and booster vaccinations. For the vaccination of healthy cats as an aid in prevention of disease caused by rabies for 4 years following initial and booster vaccinations.
Administration and Dosage
Aseptically reconstitute the desiccated vaccine with the rabies vaccine diluent provided and administer 1 mL by the subcutaneous route. Initial vaccination of healthy cats may be given as early as 12 weeks of age, with a booster for rabies using Continuum Feline HCP-R or monovalent rabies vaccine administered 1 year later. Revaccinate every 3 years with a single dose of Continuum Feline HCP-R.
Caution
- Recommended storage temperature 35-45ºF (2-7ºC). Do not freeze.
- Shake well before use.
- Use contents promptly once reconstituted.
- Non-chemically sterilized needles and syringes should be used for administration of vaccine.
- Avoid vaccinating pregnant queens.
- Administration of epinephrine may be indicated in the event of an anaphylactic reaction.
- Contains gentamicin, neomycin, polymyxin B, and thimerosal as preservatives.
- Burn this container and all unused contents.
- Only healthy animals should be vaccinated. Animals incubating any disease or animals stressed due to shipping, malnutrition, or parasitism may not achieve or maintain an adequate immune response.
- The rabies diluent contains a pH indicator as an added feature.
